糖尿病用藥incretin therapy的討論[]

目前的理論認為"incretin therapy會使得C peptide 上升，或許代表可以恢復beta cell的功能而達到治本 而非治標，"但是如果這是正確的，那為什麼人會有糖尿病呢?incretin會修復beta cell，那beta cell應該永遠不會退化而造成糖尿病才對，所以糖尿病或許是incretin先減少而造成的疾病。incretin開始減少之後，beta cell就減少或是功能下降，久而久之就形成糖尿病了。
incretin therapy的藥物分成三種[]
- Native GLP-1 (Glucagon-like peptide)
- Incretin mimetics (GLP-1 agonist) 字尾~tide (FDA, 2005): injection form
- Incretin enhancer: DPP4 inhibitors 字尾~agliptin (FDA, 2006): oral form
- Vildagliptin (Galvus)
- Sitagliptin (Januvia)
